Hongqiao Business District
In 2008, it was officially approved by the State Council and the Shanghai Municipal Government, and officially put into construction in 2010. According to the national and Shanghai national economic and social development plans, as well as the requirements of the overall urban planning of Shanghai, the Hongqiao Business District will rely on the Hongqiao comprehensive transportation hub and the National Convention and Exhibition Center to build a national modern service industry development demonstration zone, a large platform for regional cooperation in the Yangtze River Delta, a major carrier area for the construction of the Shanghai International Trade Center, an important window and gateway for China’s connections, and an influential central business district. Based on the location conditions, transportation advantages, and the development foundation formed during the 12th Five Year Plan period, the development positioning of Hongqiao Business District during the 13th Five Year Plan period is to focus on “3 major functions”, strengthen “4 services”, highlight “5 characteristics”, and achieve the development goals of “Shanghai Western Center”, “New Engine of Yangtze River Delta Linkage Development”, and “* * Level Business District”.
